Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Question:  Where do your rugs come from?

Answer:  All of our rugs come from one big machine located in Georgia, south of Atlanta.  All right, that's a gag...

Our estate (used) rugs come from Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan and the Cuacuses (e.g. Uzbekistan, Dhagestan, Armenia, Turkey, etc.).  Some pieces are purchased aborad and imported.  Our old Persian and Caucasian pieces are typically purchased Stateside at auctions and estate sales.

Our new product is generally imported from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran.

Question:  You're prices seem low.  Why?

Answer:  Why thank you!  We pride ourselves on offering fair prices on rugs and being able to take some of the 'mystery' out of the rug purchasing process.  We are a direct importer of all of our new carpets and this creates a lower price point that we are happy to pass along to the customer.

Question:  My rug needs cleaning -- where should I go?

Answer:  Ashjian does all of our cleaning.  You can drop rugs off at our shop and pick them up at your convenience.  Or call Ashjian directly and arrange for a pick-up from their van.  Ashjan's number is: (317) 359-5001.  The cleaning or repair price for the drop-off service or for pick-up is the same.    Keep in mind, turnaround is about one week either way.

Ashjian cleans handmade rugs the way they're supposed to be cleaned and it's a fairly established and traditional process that works well.  We would recommend against using mobile carpet cleaning services (steam or chemical) and further, against using a steaming vacuum or stain removing vacuum.  Rather, call Ashjian.
